THE PUPIL PREMIUM GRANT
The Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) is Government funding allocated to schools for the benefit of children from low-income families who are known to be eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) or have been eligible for free school meals at any point in the last six years. This funding is also given for children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months and children whose parents are currently serving in the armed forces. The extra funding is made available to support narrowing the gap that still exists between pupils from disadvantaged and more affluent backgrounds and for pupils to reach their full potential, both academically and socially, by overcoming barriers to learning.
Schools can decide how they spend the funding. However we are accountable for how they use the additional funding to support eligible pupils. We are required to publish online information about how we have used our funding. This will ensure that parents and all stakeholders are made fully aware of the attainment of pupils covered by the Pupil Premium Grant and the extra support that they receive.
